About Me

Young Minds Tutoring is run by me, Jen Young. I am a fully qualified teacher with over 13 years of experience across early childhood and primary school settings. I am currently working as a full-time primary school teacher and have been at my current school for the past eight years. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary). 

I have extensive experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, anxiety, dyspraxia, specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia), and speech delays. This experience allows me to understand each child’s individual learning profile and adapt my teaching to meet their needs. 

Young Minds Tutoring was established to support students who require additional, targeted assistance to master content taught at school. As part of the enrolment process, I work closely with families and schools (if requested) to gain an understanding of each child’s strengths, areas of need and learning goals. I then develop individualised programs tailored to support academic progress while also building confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.

Fee Schedule

  • Initial assessment – Free 

    • Initial assessments allow us to ensure we have placed your child at the correct level for term tutoring (not applicable for school holiday intensives) 

  • Resource/enrollment fee - $50  

    • Payable once per calendar year to cover books and resources. 

  • Private Tutoring – a personalised program catered to your child’s needs. Please contact us for guidance on how long a session should be to achieve your child’s goals. 

    • 30 minutes - $50 

    • 45 minutes - $75 

    • 60 minutes - $90 

Payment policy: 

  • All fees are payable in advance. 

  • Weekly tutoring fees are charged in half term blocks and must be paid before the first session in each block. 

  • Missed sessions for term tutoring will be provided with a credit towards the next payment or a make-up lesson. Lessons missed without at least 24 hours notice will be forfeited.  

  • 2 weeks notice is required for cancellation of lessons.
